§ 1-9. Severability of parts of Code.

  • It is hereby declared to be the intention of the city council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this Code and all ordinances are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this Code or any ordinance, or its application to any person or circumstance, shall be declared invalid by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, and such judgment or decree shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections, or their application, of this Code or any ordinance.
